Identify and execute on a project that highlights the capabilities of metal AM, and generative design. Project needs to demonstrate strength of manufacturing technology, and performance capabilities of generative design, with a fast turnaround on project execution and maintain relatively low budget.

PROJECT OUTCOME
Identification of application in sports technology, showing off the first ever metal 3D printed skate trucks, with a performance boost of approx 100% based on effort and challenge of executing specific tricks. Collaboration between Autodesk and Brailled skateboarding, netting over 1M views on project, earned media, new interest in 3d printing and GD capabilities for Autodesk, and trial intake spike
METHOD
Combination of design and engineering needed to be balanced effectively. Identifying an interesting outlet to demonstrate the technological capabilities of both hardware and software considerations at a low budget resulted in narrowing search down to sports hardware. Identification of a strategic partner deemed necessary for exposure. Project was based on own experience in the sport, and executed in less than 3 weeks from concept to release
PROCESS
Extensive research into skateboard technology from inception to modern day as basis for where the future of the sport lies. Development based on what works and what needs improvement from a technological perspective, immediate identification of skate trucks as part requiring the most advancement and innovation. Project led with technology and design considerations were executed against manipulation and control of generative technology
